Imbes nga lima ka mga core subjects sa initia proposal sini, nag-adoptar ang DepEd sa ginapropose sini nga SHS curriculum lima sa walo ka mga general education subjects para sa college students agud makabulig sa pagbuhin sang numero sang tuig sa college kag paghukas sang bridging programs.

Sa idalum sang bag-o nga proposal, ang SHS core subjects ang pagalakipan sang Purposive Communication, Understanding the Self, Mathematics in the Modern World, Science, Technology and Society, kag Readings in Philippine History.
